Creating events with venues¶
Attach a reserved seating venue template to a new event so guests can pick their own seats at checkout.
Who this is for
Hosts who already have a venue template and want to attach it to a new event with assigned seating.
Quick steps¶
- Go to Events and click Create event.
- Enter your event name and choose Assigned seating.
- Select your reserved seating venue.
- Assign price levels to ticket offerings.
- Adjust ticket names, prices, and visibility.
- Save and publish your event.
Once complete, guests will see your seating map and can pick seats based on the tickets you have created.
Step-by-step walkthrough¶
1. Start a new event¶
- From the Organizer, click Events.
- Click Create event.
- Enter an event name (for example,
My Venue 1 Event).
2. Attach your reserved seating venue¶
Reserved seating events must be single date/time
When a seating chart is attached to an event, the Multiple Dates/Times option is disabled. Reserved seating and multi-date scheduling cannot be combined. If you need to run the same venue across several show dates, create a separate single-date event for each show.
- Choose Assigned seating as the event type.
- Select your reserved seating venue (for example, My Venue 1).
- Confirm that the seating map appears with the sections and price levels you set up.
3. Create ticket offerings from price levels¶
Use your price levels (for example, Back seats, Table seats, VIP Seat) to define ticket offerings.
You can:
- Rename tickets (for example, "Back seats general admission", "Table seats general admission").
- Assign each ticket to a specific price level.
- Set different prices by section or seating area.
Continue configuring ticket prices and visibility using the dropdowns and visibility controls.
4. Save and publish the event¶
- Save your changes.
- Click Save and publish to make the event live.
Guests visiting the event page will now see the map and select seats based on the offerings you created.
Troubleshooting¶
I cannot select my venue when creating the event
- Make sure the venue template is saved and named.
- Refresh the event creation page and try again.
Seats are not priced correctly in the event
- Double-check that each ticket is linked to the correct price level.
- If you updated price levels in the venue after creating the event, review and update event tickets to match.
Guests do not see the seating map
- Confirm the event is set to Assigned seating, not general admission.
- Make sure the event is published and you are opening the correct event link.
Can I run a reserved seating event across multiple dates?
Not with a single event. Reserved seating and multiple dates are mutually exclusive. When a seating chart is attached, the Multiple Dates/Times option is disabled and cannot be selected.
The workaround is to create one event per show date, each with the venue attached. For example, a comedy club running Friday and Saturday nights would be set up as two separate single-date events, both using the same venue template.
