Update Payout Schedule

Learn how to change your payout method from a fixed schedule (for example, monthly) to per-event bank payouts, and understand how payout timing works.

Hosts or finance admins who want more control over when funds are paid out from 3Common to their bank account.

Quick steps

  1. Log in to your 3Common organizer account.
  2. Go to Finance from the main navigation.
  3. Select Payout per event or another payout schedule option.
  4. Click Switch payout method and confirm the change.

How payouts work

Payout schedule options

When you open payout settings, you will see several schedule options:

  • Daily -- Your entire available balance will be paid out every day.
  • Every Friday -- Your entire available balance will be paid out every Friday.
  • 1st of Every Month -- Your entire available balance will be paid out on the 1st of every month.
  • Per event -- Events will be paid out individually after the event ends.

Choose the schedule that best fits how you manage cash flow for your events.

Payout timing and delays

  • 7-day delay: Payouts are calculated on your chosen schedule (daily, weekly, monthly, or per event), but funds are only released for transactions that are at least 7 days old. This rolling 7-day delay helps cover refunds, chargebacks, and disputes.
  • Changing payout frequency: Switching from daily to weekly or monthly payouts (or back again) does not change the 7-day delay. It only changes how often you receive payouts.
  • Impact of switching to per-event payouts: If you switch to a per-event payout schedule (where payouts are triggered by specific events), the 7-day delay will reset when you switch. If you later switch back to daily or scheduled payouts, a new 7-day delay period will start.

Step-by-step walkthrough

1. Open Finance in 3Common

  1. Log in to your 3Common organizer account.
  2. From the main navigation, go to Finance.
  3. Use the Finance section to review balances, payouts, and payment settings.

2. Open payout settings

  1. In the Finance area, select Payout per event.
  2. Locate the setting that controls how your available balance is paid out.
  3. Click the option that currently says something like "Your entire available balance will be paid out on the 1st of every month."
  4. This opens the controls to change your payout method.

3. Switch payout method to banking information

  1. Select Per event (or the payout option that matches how you want funds sent to your bank).
  2. Click Switch payout method to move from your current schedule (for example, monthly) to payouts based on your chosen banking details.
  3. Review any confirmation message or summary of the new payout method.
  4. Confirm the change.

Your payout method is now updated. Future payouts will follow the new schedule and continue to respect the 7-day delay.


Troubleshooting

I do not see the Finance tab

Make sure you are logged in as an organizer or have the correct permission level for finance and payouts.

I cannot find the payout schedule options

Check that payouts are enabled for your account and that you have completed any required identity or banking verification steps.

My payouts do not seem to be using the new method yet

Changes may apply only to future payouts. Review the payout schedule in the Finance section to confirm which events and balances are using the new method, and remember that funds are only released after the 7-day delay window.
