Set when tickets go on sale and when online sales end¶
Control exactly when each ticket type becomes available and when online sales close, so guests can only buy tickets during the window you choose.
Who this is for
Hosts and teams who need to set specific start and end times for ticket sales on an event (for example, early-bird windows or cutoffs a few hours before doors).
Quick steps¶
- Open your event in the Ticketing / Events area.
- Go to the Tickets section and select the ticket you want to edit.
- Open the ticket's Advanced options.
- Set the sales start date and time.
- Set the sales end date and time.
- Save your changes and repeat for any other ticket types.
When you are done, each ticket will only be available during the sale window you set, and online sales will close automatically at your end time.
Step-by-step walkthrough¶
1. Open your event and go to Tickets¶
- From your 3Common dashboard, go to Events.
- Click the event you want to edit to open the event builder.
- Scroll to the Tickets section where your ticket types are listed.
2. Choose the ticket you want to control¶
- Click the ticket you want to edit (for example, General admission, VIP, or a tiered ticket).
- Make sure the basic ticket details (name, price, quantity) are already set.
3. Open Advanced options¶
- On the ticket, click Advanced options.
- This is where you can control availability, fees, and per-order limits.
4. Set when ticket sales start¶
- In the Ticket availability or Sales window section, find Start date / Start time.
- Choose the date when you want this ticket to go on sale.
- Set the time in your event's timezone.
- If you leave the start fields empty, the ticket will generally be available as soon as the event is published. Use a start date and time if you want:
- Early-bird tickets that unlock later.
- Tickets that should only appear close to the event.
5. Set when online sales end¶
- In the same section, find End date / End time.
- Choose the date and time when you want online sales for this ticket to stop.
- Common patterns:
- End sales a few hours before doors so you can finalize guest lists.
- End sales at event start time so guests cannot buy after the event begins.
- After this time, guests will no longer see this ticket available for purchase online.
6. Save and repeat for other tickets¶
- Click Save or Done on the ticket to apply the time frame.
- Repeat the same steps for any other tickets that need different sale windows (for example, Early Bird vs Regular vs Last-minute tickets).
- Preview your event page to confirm which tickets are visible right now based on the current date and time.
Troubleshooting¶
My ticket is not showing up on the event page
- Check that the sales start date/time is not in the future.
- Make sure the ticket quantity is greater than zero and it is not sold out.
- Confirm the ticket's visibility is set correctly (for example, not hidden or "visible after sellout" of another ticket, unless that is intended).
Guests can still buy tickets after I expected sales to end
- Re-open Advanced options and confirm the end date and time are set correctly for that ticket.
- Make sure your event timezone is correct so the cutoff happens when you expect.
Early-bird or tiered tickets are overlapping
- For Early Bird tiers, set the end time for the early-bird ticket before the start time for the next tier.
- For "Visible after sellout" tiers, confirm the base ticket they depend on and check that it has actually sold out.
