Step-by-step walkthrough

1. Open Events and venue templates

  1. Go to the Organizer at organizer.3common.com.
  2. In the left navigation, click Events.
  3. Click Venue templates to open the venue templates list.
  4. Click Create venue to start a new venue template.

2. Choose the base layout type

Select the type of seating you want to start from:

  • Table arrangement
  • Reserved seating
  • General admission section

This defines how seats and sections will be structured in your venue.

3. Configure rows, seats, and basic layout settings

Use the layout tools to define how many rows and seats you need and how they are numbered.

Typical actions include:

  • Setting row counts and seat counts per row.
  • Choosing Reserved seating as the layout mode.
  • Adjusting spacing and alignment so your map roughly matches your real-world venue.

You can also adjust row and seat labels, switch between different labelling schemes, and choose shapes for different sections.

Use the Label tools to rename areas (for example, Stage) and make the map easy to understand for both hosts and guests.

4. Fine-tune the stage and seating blocks

Label the stage and nearby sections so it is clear which seats are closest to the stage.

Common actions here:

  • Naming the stage area.
  • Using Row select, Seat select, and Shape select tools to adjust multiple seats at once.
  • Setting how many rows or seats are affected by each change.

Use Seat select to pick individual seats for overrides, such as special VIP seats or test seats. You can override seat labels when needed (for example, using a letter or custom code instead of the default label).

Switch between Shape select and Seat select to move or adjust blocks of seats and refine the layout. Use Scaling to zoom and adjust the size of the layout so it is easy to work with.

5. Create price levels and assign them to sections

With your layout in place, define price levels and assign them to specific rows or sections.

Examples:

  • Select back rows and name them Back seats, then set a base price (for example, $20.00).
  • Select front or central sections and name them Table seats, with a different price.
  • Select premium seats and name them VIP Seat, with a higher price.

Use Row select and Section select to choose which seats each price level applies to. For individual special seats (like VIP seats), use Seat select and update the seat name and price as needed.

When you have finished assigning prices and labels, use Section select and related tools to review inventory.

6. Save and name your venue template

  1. Click Save changes.
  2. Name your venue (for example, My Venue 1).
  3. Click Save & exit to dashboard.
