Compose and Schedule an Email Campaign

Compose and schedule a marketing email campaign to your event attendees from 3Common's Marketing workspace.

Who this is for

Hosts and team members who want to send a branded email campaign to event attendees or an imported audience.

Quick steps

  1. Open the Marketing workspace and choose your event or campaign.
  2. Start a new email from the Sent tab.
  3. Add recipients from your event audience or by typing email addresses.
  4. Write your subject line and message, including any promo codes.
  5. Design the email layout and sections.
  6. Choose when to send (immediately or schedule for later).
  7. Review and send your campaign, then track opens and other metrics.

When you are done, you will have a scheduled or sent campaign with full metrics in the Sent view.

Step-by-step walkthrough

1. Open the Marketing workspace

  1. Go to host.3common.com.
  2. In the left navigation, open Marketing.
  3. Select the campaign or event you want to email (for example, the Aurora Music Festival campaign).

2. Open your campaign details

  1. From the Marketing list, open the campaign row to view details.
  2. Use the filters and columns to locate your campaign, then open the campaign metrics view.

3. Go to the Sent tab and start a new email

  1. In the campaign view, click Sent to see previous emails for this campaign.
  2. Click Compose to start a new email.

You can add recipients in two main ways:

  • Type email addresses manually — Enter email addresses directly into the recipient field.
  • Import from an event — Use the import option to pull in attendees from a specific event and confirm the email list.

5. Write your subject line

  1. In the Subject field, enter a clear subject line. For example: Heads up! We are offering a code for a free t-shirt.
  2. Confirm your recipients in the recipient field.

6. Choose when to send

You can send immediately or schedule for later.

  1. Use the send-time controls to choose Immediately or select a future date and time.
  2. Optionally keep the recipient list in sync with the event so new attendees are included automatically.

7. Write your email content and promo code

  1. In the email editor, write your message. For example:
    • Intro line describing the offer or update.
    • Details about the event or promotion.
    • Promo line such as Promo code: 50OFF at checkout.
  2. Use formatting (bold, headings, dividers) to make the promo stand out.
  3. Add sections or layout blocks to structure the email.
  1. Add a section that explains any important details (for example, available t-shirt sizes or deadlines).
  2. Include a link to your website or event page so guests can learn more or buy tickets.

9. Add layout blocks

  1. Use layout blocks (single column, double column, etc.) to structure the email content.
  2. Optionally include branded elements like logos or color-accent sections.

10. Add a call-to-action section

  1. Add a closing section that tells recipients what to do next. For example: Purchase your shirt on the event checkout page, and use the code.
  2. Use bold text or visual emphasis to highlight the call-to-action.
  1. If your template supports event blocks, connect the email to a specific event.
  2. Search for and select the correct event.
  3. Review how the event details appear in the preview.

12. Preview and adjust branding

  1. Use the preview function to see how the email will look to recipients.
  2. Confirm that the subject, promo code, and key message are clear.
  3. Update footer logos or colors if needed using the footer controls.
  4. Save your changes when you are happy with the design.

13. Send your campaign

  1. When everything looks good, send the campaign (or confirm the scheduled time if you chose a future send).
  2. Your campaign will move into the Sent list for this event or marketing workspace.

14. Review campaign performance

  1. Open the Sent tab for your campaign to see the list of sent emails.
  2. Open the email you just sent.
  3. Review metrics such as Total Sent, Opened Emails, and open rates.
  4. Use these insights to refine future messaging, send follow-ups, or test new offers.

Troubleshooting

My campaign is not showing in the Sent tab

Make sure you actually sent or scheduled the campaign rather than just previewing it. Refresh the Sent tab and confirm you are viewing the correct event or marketing workspace.

Recipients did not receive the email

Check that the recipient list is correct and that email addresses are valid. If you imported from an event, confirm that attendees have email addresses on file.

Scheduled send did not go out at the expected time

Verify that the scheduled date and time are in the future and in the correct timezone. If the send time has already passed, the campaign may need to be resent.
